Testa interface
An interface design for a windows software

The Brief
Technology for gathering spacial data
The Proliner device’s goal is to help engineers measure dimensions of a variety of objects (including interiors) by gathering spacial data. This is achieved by using a pen with an attached wire to a movable device with a static position. Using a remote control, spacial points are gathered in 3D and 2D space visualized in the software.

Understanding the interaction with the original device
The goal of the project was to create an interface for Prodim’s new technology, based on Proliner’s process. Same device with a removable tablet where users can easily and quickly collect all spacial data. Additionally, they should be able to edit the data on a basic level and export it to the more advanced editing software of Prodim Systems.

For high complexity with minimal interface
The client desired a minimal interface with a modern outlook. Lighter designs, which reflected their brand and did not distract the user. They have decided to shed some of the functionality and my job was to create a ‘look and feel’ which resonated with their goals.

The main challenge
During the project my main point of feedback was my client. I spoke to the business and development teams to understand how users handle the device and software. In an ideal world, I would get in contact with customers and perform surveys or usability tests with them in order to establish the requirements and bottle necks for the interface. My decisions were solely based on the team’s internal information gathered at onboarding workshops and customer service reports.
Prodim Systems also wanted the visual design to match the interface from their other editing software. My approach was to present several visual directions via moodboards and process which elements suited the brand best as there was no explicit brand guide.

The final results
Delivering a mobile interface for a windows application
Overall the designs and mockup served as a starting point for the development team to modernize their visuals and allowed users to
During the process of drafting wireframes, a final structure was determined for all the necessary elements. Most of them were based on users data. The interface was tested internally with stakeholders.
- Quickly check device global settings
- Easily see what data they have gathered
- Visualize the data from 2D and 3D perspectives
- Use basic editing to clean up the data
